What the heck?

Has anyone heard of such a thing???? What is going on? Here's what's up.

The company I work for is moving into the Russ Building. Here's a little history about the building...

The Russ Building is a Neo-Gothic office tower located in the Financial District of San Francisco, California. The 436 ft building was completed in 1927 and had 32 floors as well as the city's first indoor parking garage. Upon completion, the building was iconic enough that that Architect and Engineer wrote, “In early every large city there is one building that because of its size, beauty of architectural design and character of its use and occupancy, has come to typify the city itself ... Today the Russ Building takes this place in San Francisco. by its size and location and by the character of its tenants the building becomes indeed—'The Center of Western Progress'.” The tower is a California Historical Landmark. Until the emergence of Sand Hill Road in the 1980s, many of the largest venture capital firms held offices in the Russ Building.

So it's nice. We're renting the office on the 11th floor from this sub-landlord that is this Jewish group....something about enhancing the Jewish experience in Israel or something like that. Only in big cities do you get something that becomes an organization that specific. Speaking of specific in big cities....I live a couple houses away from a person that her job is to put pictures on the walls of offices. What gives? Who can't do that? Apparently not everybody.... I think it's a piece of cake. Hey, maybe I'll start doing that myself....but I digress.

The office inside is old looking, no air conditioning but in a great location. Lots of amenities right there and better than what we have now. As we (lawyers we) are signing the lease, or sub-lease, the sub-landlords say "Oh one additional thing is Linda has to stay for the summer. We just can't move her. It's impossible." So I'm thinking she's some piece of furniture that is so endearing to them that they named it a person's name or some pet that is so big they have to find a zoo to give it to so....what is Linda?
